Barnet Goverman, CFP®, MBA has been providing investment advisory and financial planning services since 1989 and is the founding principal of Goverman Financial Solutions, LLC d/b/a Financial Solutions Associates, an investment advisory firm registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and notice filed in the states of Massachusetts, California, Florida, Maine, New Hampshire and Texas. As a fee-only advisor, Barnet is compensated solely from his clients either for managing their portfolios or for providing financial planning consulting.
Drawing on his economics and MBA background along with his applied business experience in addressing his clients’ wealth management and financial planning needs, Barnet designs and manages asset-allocated investment portfolios specific to each clients’ goals and time-frames. Portfolios may be deployed throughout the capital markets in a variety of securities including institutional mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), and individual stocks and bonds to achieve effective diversification. All securities are publicly traded, liquid and held at outside custodians.
Specializing in retirement financial planning, his current clients include individuals, families, trusts, estates, and small businesses. Barnet helps them achieve their financial objectives and improve their quality of life through a long-term relationship, sound easily understood advice and an unwavering commitment to their best interests.
Prior to founding Goverman Financial Solutions, LLC d/b/a Financial Solutions Associates, Barnet held several senior financial management positions with leading firms in the private sector, including Coopers & Lybrand, GTE Corporation, and Prime Computer.
Barnet graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Economics from Boston College in 1975, and earned his Masters degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University in 1981. He earned his Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1993. Residing in Mansfield, Barnet and his wife Shelley have two grown children and two grandchildren.
